Dr Lisa Bardach

Profile

Biography

I am working as an ERC Postdoctoral Research Fellow for the Teacher Selection Project. My main research interests are twofold. First, I focus on teachers’ and students’ non-cognitive attributes (particularly motivation) and cognitive abilities, and the interplay between non-cognitive and cognitive characteristics and educational outcomes, such as student achievement. Second, I investigate instructional practices in terms of achievement goal structures and their effects, e.g., on students’ motivation and socio-emotional development. I address my research questions using quantitative data analysis with a specific focus on latent variable modeling and multilevel modeling (i.e., structural equation modeling, SEM; item response theory, IRT; and multilevel structural equation modeling, ML-SEM).
