Biography

Irene Sánchez is a PhD Student in the Centre for Health Economics (CHE). Irene holds an MA in Economic Theory and Econometrics from the Toulouse School of Economics (June 2010) and an MSc in Economics from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics (June 2011). Irene also worked as a Research Fellow at CHE for two years (October 2011-October 2013) where she was involved in topics related with informal care, health care inequalities, and patient data analysis.

Irene’s PhD topic is about the consequences of the provision of informal care for caregivers in the UK. She is particularly interested in analyzing the effect of providing informal care on the carer’s well-being and their health outcomes, as well as, the impact of informal care provision on caregiver’s retirement decisions.
