Emma Tominey wins British Academy Rising Star Engagement award

Dr Emma Tominey, Senior Lecturer in Economics at York, has successfully bid for a British Academy Rising Star Engagement award.

Emma is an applied labour economist. Her research on female labour supply has been published in the American Economic Journal: Applied Economicsand the European Economic Review. Her latest publication on 'Incentives in the Public Sector: Evidence from a Government Agency' is forthcoming in the Economic Journal

The grant aims to facilitate engagement between younger and more established academics. The department's Workshop for Labour and Family Economics (WOLFE) has become a key event in the calendar for our Labour Economics group for such engagement. The grant will make it possible that the successful WOLFE series continues, bringing truly outstanding researchers from around the world to York.
