Funding and Awards

Departmental and CREMS awards

Applicants for the MA in Renaissance & Early Modern Studies qualify for any appropriate bursaries offered by the Department of History, as well as the CREMS Scholarships which are dedicated to this course (see below). In all cases, applicants apply for a place to study at York before applying for specific funding opportunities. Further scholarships for Home and International students are available through the University.

CREMS Scholarships, each worth £2,000

CREMS offers 2 Scholarships for the MA Renaissance & Early Modern Studies, each worth £2,000 towards fees. All successful applications received and accepted by the end of July will be automatically considered, unless another major award has already been allocated. The CREMS awards are open to all prospective scholars from the UK, EU and Overseas.

Department of History Scholarships

Thanks to the considerable generosity of the University's donors, the History Department is able to offer a number of scholarships to MA students commencing their studies in Autumn 2017.  All applicants who have applied to study on one of the MA programmes in the Department of History by midnight on 5 May 2017 will be considered for a scholarship; there is no need to make a separate application.
