As the largest college at the University of York, we have a number of mature student members. Whether you choose to live in-College or off-campus, we are committed to making Halifax a place where you can relax after a busy day of studying.
We have a Graduate Common Room, located within JJ's Common Room, which is private and available for mature students to use, along with the common room kitchen. Our HCSA and College Tutors also run events every week. We are committed to hosting activities that can be enjoyed by everyone.
In addition to in-College support, there will be a mature students Welcome Day that will take place at the start of the year, where you will be able to meet other mature students from across the University. If you decide to live off-campus, the University can also assign you a second year mature student as a 'buddy', to help you with any questions or concerns you might have.
We are currently looking to appoint a Mature Student Officer to our HCSA this year. If you would like to represent the mature students of Halifax College, you should explore the HCSA website and find out when this year's elections are being held.
