Your support network

College Manager

Your college's operational lead. Oversees welfare issues and can talk through any of your more serious concerns if needed.

Deputy College Manager

Provides wellbeing interventions for our residential students and delivers key student experience projects on behalf of the local College and the Student Life and Wellbeing team.

College Life Coordinator

Provides welfare and wellbeing support under the guidance of the College Manager and Deputy College Manager. Delivers community interventions to make a positive difference to their members’ lives and studies through delivering events and activities.

College Life Advisor

Your College Life Advisors are students who work with the college to promote and support community activity and offer peer support for issues such as making friends, networking, and settling into student life at York. They work closely with the rest of the college team.

Your College Manager: Cath Dickinson

Hi, I'm Cath. I have worked in various supportive roles at the University since 2002. My role as College Manager is to support all Alcuin students to have the best possible time at University.

I’m keen to get to know our members, to support you when times are tough and to hear any ideas about events or campaigns you would like to see or make happen yourself. I also help deal with any escalated welfare issues.

Your Deputy College Manager: Esther Smyth

Hi, I’m Esther, your Deputy College Manager!

I’m your first point of contact for internal and external enquiries relating to the college. As well as this, I’ll liaise with Accommodation, Facilities Management and Academic Departments. My job is to help with any queries and issues you may have, and to make sure every Alcuin student gets the most possible from their college experience!

I’m always happy to meet with students, whether you’ve got a question or just fancy a chat.

Your College Life Coordinator: Róisín Blackburn

Your Alcuin College Life Coordinator (CLC) provides welfare and wellbeing support for both on campus and off campus students in Alcuin as well as working with our student leaders on projects such as welcome and orientation and college activities. If you or your housemates would like someone to speak to about a welfare issue, your CLC will be able to help and can escalate things if needed.
