Postdoctoral Research Associate

Research Interests

John is a Postdoctoral Research Associate working with Professor Rod Hubbard and Professor Gideon Davies, FRS. The focus of his work is using biophysical and structural information to discover and characterise ligand-protein interactions. Recent work identified and developed allosteric enzyme activators, the first found using fragment-based approaches. Currently he is applying this enzyme activation method to biofuel production. Other current projects concern the thermodynamic role of water in ligand binding and fragment-based inhibitor discovery for cancer-related targets.
