Fracking reverses atmospheric hydrocarbon trends

Posted on 14 June 2016

Study suggests fracking is responsible for a reversal in atmospheric hydrocarbon trends.

An international team of scientists, including chemists from the University of York, have identified an increase in the concentrations of ethane and propane gas over much of the Northern Hemisphere since around 2009, probably due to increasing North American oil and natural gas production.
