Gowokani Chijere Chirwa is a PhD student in Economics based in the Centre for Health Economics (CHE). His main interests are in application of econometric methods in health. Currently he is doing research in micro health insurance in low and middle income countries.
Before joining CHE, Gowokani held positions at the University of Malawi Chancellor College Economics department and also worked as a Health Economist at Malawi Liverpool Welcome Trust Clinical Research programme. Here he gained research experience in conducting economic evaluations of HIV and AIDS as well as TB.
He holds a Master in Economics as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science majoring in Economics and Sociology from University of Malawi.
