Miqdad Asaria
Research Fellow

Miqdad is currently based in Delhi, India where he is providing health economics support to help establish the national health technology assessment agency. He holds MSc degrees in both Economics and Computer Science and a PhD in Health Economics focussing on the economics of health inequality. Prior to joining the Centre for Health Economics in 2010 he spent many years working in financial markets, researching for think tanks, consulting and working on health policy at the Department of Health in the UK.

Miqdad's work focusses primarily on health inequalities, ranging from ex-post measurement and policy evaluation to incorporating health inequality concerns into ex-ante cost-effectiveness analysis models.
He has methodological interests in applying novel techniques to explore and visualise large linked administrative and observational datasets and more broadly to the methodological challenges of working with big data.
Some of his work on visualising health inequalities data can be found here: www.ccg-inequalities.co.uk and model code related to his various research projects is freely available from his GitHub site: github.com/miqdadasaria
