1.5 years after the start of ONS COVID-19 Infection Survey: What have we learned?

Thursday 11 November 2021, 11.00AM to 12.00pm

Speaker(s): Koen Pouwels, University of Oxford

Summary: In April 2020, Koen Pouwels and his colleagues designed the COVID-19 Infection Survey, which is now the largest longitudinal household SARS-CoV-2 survey in the world. With over 500,000 participants included in the survey it provides a rich data source which has been used to inform Government policies throughout the pandemic. During the seminar an overview will be provided of what we have learned from the survey 1.5 years after its initiation. Topics include levels of protection provided by vaccination and previous protection, transmission and near real-time local prevalence of SARS-CoV-2. The seminar will conclude with an outlook into the future with a discussion about the value provided by the survey.

Location: Zoom presentation, not recorded
