Thursday 9 February 2017, 2.00PM to 3.15pm
Speaker(s): Richard Murray, Director of Policy, Kings Fund
Abstract: The NHS is just coming through its worst Winter for well over a decade with the Red Cross (in)famously describing the service as in a `humanitarian crisis’. With the reform programme set out in the NHS Five Year Forward View well under way, the NHS is trying to balance the books, maintain standards of care and transform the service all at the same time, and in theory, all by 2020. This session will look at the objectives for reform, progress to date and the headwinds the service must overcome as well as trying to understand what is happening in the service as it tackles the Winter upsurge in demand.
Location: ARRC Auditorium A/RC/014
