Professor Nils Gutacker presents report on pharmaceutical pricing to German parliament

Professor Nils Gutacker and members of the German Expert Council for Health and Care presented their annual report to the German Health Minister and the German parliament in Berlin. This year’s report focuses on fair pricing of innovative pharmaceuticals. Nils and colleagues made a range of recommendations to improve the use of evidence over a drug’s life cycle, improve the price negotiation process between health insurers and the pharmaceutical industry, and protect the German health system against future cost explosions in the light of new and expensive genetic therapies.
