Using The System

If you want to show a DVD, PowerPoint presentation or video clip from the PC or your laptop, press 'Use Screen'. For audio only content press 'Sound Only'

If the above screen is not shown, press the and you will always be taken there. This button will be in the top right corner of every screen other than the one shown above.

Equipment and Room Controls

Once you select a source, the screen will display any relevant controls or information for using this device.

If an "Environmental" tab is displayed then this will include controls for non-display equipment e.g. lights and screens

Replay - Lecture Capture

This room has timetabled lecture capture facilities available for recording audio and projected images.

There is a background microphone in this room that will capture your voice.

Laptop Connections

The following connectors are available on the trolley / lectern to connect to your laptop:-

If your laptop does not have a suitable connector you will need the appropriate adaptor - www.york.ac.uk/campusservices/avcentre/instructions/laptopcon.cfm

Wireless Presentation (Solstice)

Selecting Solstice as a source will show the above screen. You can then connect to this using the device name or IP address shown and the 4 digit passcode.
You may wish to download the Solstice Client App in advance of your session.
To use the wireless presentation you must be connected to the Eduroam Wifi.

Hearing Loop

This room has an induction loop hearing system available.

At the end of your session

Log off (don't shut down) the PC, and remove any USB memory sticks/CDs/DVDs that have been used.
Press the button to clear the displays and turn off any unnecessary equipment.
