York is committed to supporting all students in taking up substantive work experience opportunities. Through York’s new Placement Year option (launched 2017/18) and existing Department Year In Industry programmes, the majority of our students now have the opportunity to pursue a year in employment as part of their degree, offering employers the chance to recruit student talent from a breadth of disciplines. During this time the student is employed by the host organisation with the relevant University Placement contact offering support before and during the placement.
We are keen to work with local, national and international employers that have the need to access talent and skills that can be adapted into placement year opportunities.
