York Strategic Leadership Programme

The leaders of today face greater challenges than ever before in terms of unlocking and using the human potential in their organisations, managing the inevitable changes that take place and in delivering the results that are expected of them. One of the main aims of a leader is to develop the capability of our people to handle change and the challenges of the future, even if those challenges have yet to be discovered.

This 12-day programme, delivered over 8 months, is designed to provide promising executives and functional specialists with the skills, tools and competencies they require for effectively operating in today’s constantly changing and challenging business environment.

The programme will enable participants to:

  • Develop a detailed understanding of leadership style and its impact on others
  • Develop the skills, knowledge and competencies that maximise management and leadership potential
  • Motivate excellence and innovation in others
  • Develop skills to manage resistance to change
  • Lead effectively in challenging circumstances arising from change
  • Meet existing and future business challenges with capability, credibility and confidence
  • Visualise the organisation they want to lead and inspire others to follow
  • Operate effectively across the organisation

Who is the Programme for?

The York Strategic Management Programme has been designed for senior leaders with at least five or more year’s professional experience as a high level manager.

Past delegates include managing directors, regional managers and heads of divisions. It may also be appropriate for people moving from specialist functions into high level management roles.

The programme is also suitable for fast-track executives who have recently acquired a general management role, as the programme provides delegates with the core management skills and a strong understanding of the concepts of strategic leadership. 

Qualification

Delegates attending the course will have the option to complete the required assignments to gain an an accredited Level 7 Certificate in leadership and management.  

How is the Programme delivered?

Over 12 days, participants will be exposed to a variety of robust leadership frameworks, interactive case discussions and exercises that will enable them to understand the mindset of high performance leaders, and to tap into their own strengths to influence and lead with impact. They will explore different facets of leadership, such as inspiring and motivating teams, building commitment and managing resistance to change.

Course Investment

The course investment is £4500 per delegate. A 10% discount is available for West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce members.

A separate fee of £650 will also be charged should you choose to complete the level 7 qualification.
