Profile

Academic Biography

I completed my PhD in 2020 at the Centre for Alcohol and Drug Research, Aarhus University, Denmark. In my doctoral research, I investigated private and public policing interventions targeted at marginalized drug users in two cities in Denmark. In my postdoctoral research, I have continued to focus on the policing of various marginalized groups, including homeless people, people who use drugs, and ethnic minorities in disadvantaged neighbourhoods. Furthermore, I have focused on the ‘softer’ and less coercive aspects of policing, including community policing, police-led drug diversion and harm reduction policing. In that regard, I am particularly interested in criminal justice interventions that operate in the space between care and control.

I joined the School of Business and Society in May 2022 to work at the ESRC Vulnerability and Policing Futures Research Centre.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Social Science (Aarhus University)
  • MSc in Criminology (Aalborg University)
