Profile

Biography

I am a PG Supervisor/Academic Skills Tutor in The York Management School.

After graduating from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne with a Combined honours degree, I attained a CELTA from the English Language Centre in York. I lived in South Korea, teaching English as a second language to Korean primary school children before returning to the UK to complete my PGCE. I spent 4 years teaching at primary schools in Hull.

In 2017, I became a tutor for vulnerable teenagers at risk of permanent exclusion from secondary school, while moonlighting as a Mathematics tutor for GCSE students. I really enjoyed helping pupils and decided to pursue helping older children studying more advanced Mathematics.

This year, in addition to my role here at the University of York, I began working towards a diploma in Data Analysis at the Open University. It is exciting for me to be in a position where I can build my knowledge of Mathematics, while continuing to help students achieve their full potential.
