Prior to doctoral studies, William completed his BSc (Hons) in Business and Management in 2019 and later attained an MSc with Distinction in International Business and Strategic Management in 2020 - with a dissertation analysing the modern viability of scenario planning models for clothing retailers. While maintaining a primary enthusiasm in the realm of business strategy, he is also the holder of a Level 5 Diploma in Trading and Financial Market Analysis and was honoured to receive the 2019 York Award Gold for a proactive stance in professional and personal development alongside his research.

William is engaged in a PhD project evaluating the conduct of corporate political activity (CPA) in UK based multinationals operating against a contemporary wave of institutional failure. What does the presence of institutional voids - markets lacking regulation or structure - beyond the classic context of developing nations mean for the evolution of international strategy? How is the behaviour and discourse between businesses and political entities impacted by such events as the UK withdrawal from the European Union, or the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic? The pursuit of these questions, concurrent to the formation of a unique theoretical bridge between often-dissonant perspectives on CPA, forms an intriguing proposition that shall pose challenge but potentially significant scientific contribution.
