Biography
Professor Dimitrios Georgakakis is Chair in Strategy and International Business at the University of York (United Kingdom). He has held permanent and visiting positions at the University of St.Gallen (Switzerland) and Texas A&M University (United States). His research has been published or is forthcoming in several academic outlets, including Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, The Leadership Quarterly, Academy of Management Discoveries, and Long Range Planning. His research interests include the role of strategic leaders in multinational enterprises, the effects of board and top management team diversity on international organizations, the CEO-Top Management interface, executive career mobility and the antecedents of CEO compensation. He serves at the editorial review board of the Journal of Management Studies and Corporate Governance: An International Review. His work has received several awards from international academic organizations – such as the Prestigious Latsis Prize from the Latsis Foundation, the Academy of Management, the Academy of International Business, the Strategic Management Society, and the European
Academy of Management. He has attracted research grants that accumulate to a total value of more than £500k and has acted as a reviewer for several research funding organizations. He holds experience at the interface with the industry and has worked on research and impact projects with several large organizations such as Credit Suisse, Swisscom, Helvetia Group, Raiffeisen Bank, and many others.

Overview
Dimitrios’ research focuses on the areas of strategic leadership, international business and international corporate governance. His research interests include the role of top management teams in international organisations, the effects of board composition and top management team diversity on corporate strategy and outcomes, the CEO-Top management interface and its effects, executive career mobility as well as the antecedents and impact of executive compensation. His research has been published or is forthcoming in several academic outlets including Journal of Management (ABS4*), Journal of International Business Studies (ABS4*), Journal of Management Studies (ABS4), Journal of World Business (ABS4), Leadership Quarterly (ABS4), Academy of Management Discoveries (ABS3), Long Range Planning (ABS3) and the International Journal of Human Resource Management (ABS3). Dimitrios is a member of the editorial review board of the journals Corporate Governance: An International Review and Journal of Management Studies.

Supervision
Dimitrios is interested in supervising students in the areas of international corporate governance, upper echelons and top management teams, diversity and strategic leadership, international business and the role of executives in multinational enterprises. His main focus is quantitative and is particularly interested in projects that adopt multidisciplinary approaches in tackling grand societal challenges.
