Our approach

BioYork translates and transforms cutting-edge research into technologies, processes and products across the bioeconomy.

We turn scientific discoveries into commercial ideas and scale them up – bringing new innovations across agriculture, health and medicines, energy, chemicals and beyond to capitalise on global markets.

By doing so, we aim to address the major 21st century challenges of healing, feeding and fuelling the world:

  • Heal – Novel uses of nature's solutions for healthcare and pharmaceuticals
  • Feed – Improving the productivity, sustainability and nutritional value of crops and food
  • Fuel – Developing new sources of bio-based fuels and chemicals
