Bespoke Proteomics In-House training

We have historically run a Practical Proteomics Course (since 2003) that included equipment demonstrations and hands-on interpretation of example peptide mass-spectra and database searching.  However recent developments in hardware, wet-lab, and data analysis techniques have all led to massive improvements in proteome coverage and also increased the diversity possible in experimental design. Therefore it is now more appropriate to offer 1:1 bespoke training for specific techniques and/or workflows of interest.  This training can provide the skills and understanding necessary for several outcomes, for example: running your own workflows in your own laboratory; best-practice sample preparation for proteomics analysis off-site; effectively using software and database tools for protein identification and quantification.

We have expertise in all these areas and can provide access to appropriate wet lab-space, high-resolution mass spectrometer instrumentation (Bruker, Thermo, Waters; see Centre of Excellence in Mass Spectrometry) and downstream software solutions (Byonic, Mascot, PEAKS, Progenesis QI, Scaffold).  Our rates start at £1821 per day for 1:1 training with your own samples (+VAT, not including subsistence).  We will consider spreading costs for small groups (up to a maximum of 3) and discounts for multi-day training on a case-by-case basis.

Dates are arranged on an ad-hoc basis. If you would like further information on bespoke training for a particular workflow please email Marie Hughes btf-enquiries@york.ac.uk
