3.1.8 Human/machine interactions

Assurance objective: Identify potential sources of deviation from required behaviour resulting from the interactions between humans and the system.

Contextual description: Deviations may occur as a result of the interactions between humans (whether the operator or another human in the environment of the system) and the system itself. Many functions of an RAS may be implemented using a combination of machines and humans. For example, some decisions may be allocated to software, whilst some may remain with a human. The potential deviations caused by these interactions, and their impact on the satisfaction of safety requirements must be identified.

Practical guidance: To be determined.
