York Concerts Box Office Assistantship

The Box Office is open on semester-time afternoons and concert evenings; the Box Office Assistants are also required to work occasional hours during the vacations, for example to set up new events on the box office system. The Box Office Assistants will be supported the Concerts General Assistant.

This post requires about nine hours work per week during semesters (including box office duty during afternoon opening hours and before evening concerts) with occasional hours during vacations.

The Box Office Assistants are responsible for selling tickets to members of the public, both in person and on the telephone, as well as dealing with online bookings, preparing reports with the Ticketsolve ticketing system, maintaining databases, banking cash from sales, and maintaining financial reports.

This Assistantship is open to application from any postgraduate student, but could be of particular relevance/interest to a Community Musician with an interest in arts administration.

Eligibility

Open to EU, International (non-EU) and UK (home) students.

Open to students in the School of Arts and Creative Technologies.

You should have significant prior experience of dealing with the general public and of cash handling. Good computer skills are also essential although training on the box office system will be available. 

You should live within easy reach of campus.
