Alizon provides a full administrative service to the staff in BioArCh, our laboratory facility on Heslington West campus.

Main responsibilities 

  • Responsible for management of BioArCh finances, both Departmental and project-related, including the processing of orders and invoices, selection and purchase of equipment and supplies and all associated record-keeping and reporting.
  • Organises the induction of staff and doctoral students new to S Block.
  • Liaison with HR regarding recruitment
  • Provides advice and support for processing of research grant applications, including use of e-Gap, JeS and Pfact. Provides post-award support including the production and interpretation of budgetary information.
  • Responsible for planning and managing the use of space
  • Administers meetings, including lab management meetings, and the timely dissemination of information
  • Point of contact for visitors
  • Liaison with technical staff in the management of equipment and resources.
  • Monitors financial aspects of commercial work within the group.
  • Creation and maintenance of relevant web pages.
  • Setting up the online store for conferences
