Volume 1 of the Research Report (St Colman’s Church, burial ground and sculpture) is scheduled for completion in 2005. It is hoped it will be published as a joint monograph of the National Museums of Scotland and the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.

Volume 2 of the Research Report (The Early Medieval Monastery at Portmahomack and its context) will be prepared from 2005. Key analyses to be completed first will be the monastic crafts and the animal bones.

The Survey of the Tarbat Peninsula will consist mainly of a study of its historical geography by Martin Carver which began in 2003. It is also hoped to undertake surveys of the sites at Nigg, Shandwick and Hilton of Cadboll, the latter in collaboration with Heather James, Sian Jones and the Hilton Trust.
