Biography

Geoff Maybank FRICS, IHBC, has worked in the Building Conservation Industry since 1992. A partner, then director of Ryder and Dutton chartered surveyors in Manchester, he retired after 32 years in 2011, having set up Auction and Home Information Pack departments as well as running the company’s development department. In 2013 he started Maybank Buildings Conservation to continue with building conservation work. He was the Director of Cygnet Building Preservation Trust and is a Trustee of Heritage Works BPT. His background is in valuation and property management, but for 25 years he has developed a building pathology, materials and repairs expertise in historic structures. 

Geoff has been a guest lecturer in the Archaeology Department for more than a dozen years, introducing students to the commercial aspect to building conservation.
