BioArCh Finance and Research Administrator

Josie provides a full administrative service to the staff in BioArCh, our laboratory facility on Heslington West campus.

Main responsibilities 

  • Financial administration for BioArCh including monitoring and management of budgets, commercial activity, procurement and all associated record-keeping and reporting
  • Induction of staff and doctoral students
  • Research grant post-award support including the production and interpretation of budgetary information
  • Planning and managing the use of space
  • Point of contact for visitors
  • Liaison with technical staff in the management of equipment and resources

Research support duties

Josie also provides support to Jo Tozer as part of the departments research support team including Worktribe costings and pre-award support by providing advice on application procedures and eligibility criteria; completing project costings; co-ordinating input from collaborators / sub-contractors, obtaining appropriate authorisations; and ensuring the timely submission of applications.

Josie also provides post-award support for part of the departments portfolio of grant awards, ensuring that award holders are aware of the key contractual obligations of the individual grants and contracts awarded and providing assistance with reports to funders and the financial management of live awards.
