A view of the YEAR Centre aydusk

We are pleased to announce the launch of the York Experimental Archaeology Research Centre (YEAR) podcast: a show dedicated to discussions around experimental archaeology, material culture and craft working. We aim to interview experts and artisans across a range of subjects, to explore some of the great projects being done at York and elsewhere.

Season One covers four interviews with members of the Archaeology department, talking about their work in prehistoric art, flint analysis, Victorian material culture and Mesolithic technology, and finishes with a guest interview from author Robert Penn, discussing his work with ash trees and British woodlands.

Season Two is currently in the making, and we're really excited to talk with more people about their work.

You can find the series on Youtube, so there is some visual content too. You can catch the podcast here.
