A University of York archaeologist has been awarded a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship

A former PhD research student and Postdoctoral Research Associate has been awarded a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Harry Robson, whose interests revolve around the Mesolithic and Early Neolithic, will commence his project 'Exploring pottery use across the Mesolithic-Neolithic transition in Northern Europe' in September.

Working with other members of the Early Pottery Research Group (http://www.earlypottery.org/), he will question the value of wild and domesticated foods throughout the circum-Baltic region through the novel lens of changing culinary practices. Organic residue analysis will be applied to three unique pottery assemblages from Poland in order to better understand vessel use and long-distance cultural change.
