The department's Prof Jo Fletcher speaks at English Heritage unveiling

On the 19th of March, at the invitation of the Egypt Exploration Society, our own Jo Fletcher was invited to speak at the unveiling of an English Heritage blue plaque for the Victorian Egyptologist and writer Amelia Edwards at her former home in Clerkenwell, London. In the company of Prof. Sir Christopher Frayling, Prof. Geoffrey Martin, Dr. Chris Naunton and Dr. Margaret Mountford, Jo discussed Amelia’s pioneering contribution both to Egyptology and her role in the womens’ suffrage movement.
