A delegation from the the National University of Cultural Heritage (NUCH) in Seoul, South Korea visited the Department on 18 June. NUCH had just 6 departments and some 500 undergraduate students, all focussed on studying aspects of archaeology, conservation and heritage management. Jane Grenville has previously visited NUCH and lectured their students. The Department has now signed a cooperation agreement with NUCH, with the aim of promoting staff and student mobility and research collaboration. Julian Richards, Head of Department, noted that "Archaeology in York has an international reputation in conservation studies and heritage management and it is great to develop opportunities for research and teaching collaboration in South Korea". Professors Chung and Kang of the Dept of Conservation Science at NUCH also said that they had been able to try Yorkshire pudding for the first time during their visit to York, and had enjoyed the experience!
