News from the Abu Dhabi Islands Archaeological Survey

We are starting to get busy here…
Dr. John Stewart is coming out shortly to assist with the cataloguing of our recently discovered Miocene fossil material… shortly followed by the conservator Nigel Larkin, to work on the conservation of some of this material.

Our most recent publication which came out this summer is: Archaeology of the United Arab Emirates: Proceedings of the First International Conference on the Archaeology of the UAE from Trident Press also available on CD !

In September 2003 Mohammed Hassan from Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates successfully completed his Masters degree in Field Archaeology in the Department of Archaeology at York University. Mohammed was supported by a scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (United Arab Emirates), as well as by Abu Dhabi-based Dolphin Energy Limited, and the Abu Dhabi Islands Archaeological Survey.

We are looking forward to Mohammed’s return to the United Arab Emirates after his successful year in the U.K.
