Sara Wajid will host a special conversation with Reyahn King, Chief Executive of York Museums Trust, about access, diversity, representation and social change in the museums and heritage sector. Join us for this one-of-a-kind event!
Sara Wajid is Head of Engagement at Museum of London working on the development of the new museum. As a recipient of the Arts Council ‘Change Maker’ award to promote diverse arts leaders, she spent a year as Head of Interpretation at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Before working in museums she was a cultural commentator and journalist. She is a trustee of the Pitt Rivers Museum and the founder of Museum Detox network of BAME museum workers.
Reyahn King is Chief Executive of York Museums Trust and formerly Head of Heritage Lottery Fund West Midlands, Director of Art Galleries at National Museums Liverpool, and Head of Exhibitions and Interpretation at Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery. In addition to these roles, Reyahn has also worked for numerous other cultural institutions including Coventry Arts and Heritage, the National Portrait Gallery and the National Gallery.
