Event details

Join us from the comfort of your own home for what is sure to be a fascinating look at part of London's rich social history. This virtual tour will explore 14 key episodes of civil disorder in central London from 1381 to 2009 and compare them with the riots that broke out all over the capital in 2011. Are there common themes, lessons to be learned, which was the worst episode, which riot lasted longest, which was the most successful protest?

This online talk, hosted by Peter Burley, (BA History, 1970), Chair of the York in London alumni group, promises to be varied and we will see the sites where dramatic events unfolded and hear the stories of what happened there.

Peter’s tours are regularly fully booked, so please reserve your place early to avoid disappointment.
