Join us in San Francisco on Thursday, March 12, 2020 for our latest Global Professional Networking event focusing on the power of interactive media, bringing together an exciting panel using digital media across social media platforms to create positive change.
The evening is hosted and chaired by York alumna Sofka Brown (BA History, 2001), Deputy Director and West Coast Regional Director for the UK Science & Innovation Network, British Consulate-General (San Francisco). It will begin with drinks on arrival from 6pm, followed by an informal, fun and lively panel discussion with questions from the audience from 6.30pm, the further networking over drinks and appetisers with your fellow York alumni and friends until 9pm.

Professor Damian Murphy, University of York Professor of Sound and Music Computing (Electronic Engineering) and Director of XR Stories, a £15 million collaboration with Screen Yorkshire and the British Film Institute around R&D in immersive and interactive storytelling
Isabel Jagoe, University of York, Manager for Digital Creativity Labs (DC Labs), which builds on a major £18 million investment to deliver impact from research in the games and media industries
Willi Geiger, York Alumnus and YouTube Engineering Manager leading the Short-form Camera and Editor team, developing tools for mobile video creation, including YouTube Stories. Before that, worked for many years in visual effects for movies.
Captain Saul Jaeger, Field Operations Division & Katie Nelson, Social Media and PR Coordinator, Mountain View Police Department, who use digital in a number of capacities to reach out to the communities they serve. Through them, Mountain View police are launching their own true-crime podcast, Major Crimes, from February 3rd in hopes of solving cold cases
