Terminology

There are some terms within the LMS which are generic and cannot be changed to be specific to the University of York.

Online course an interactive course which is viewed and completed through the LMS.
Event a learning event or course, usually in a classroom/laboratory (eg Time Management).
Session a specific occurrence of an event (eg Time Management on 25th February 2017).
Part A session that covers more than one day (eg Time Management Part 1 on 25th Feb and Time Management Part 2 on 26th Feb). Completion of both parts would be required for completion of the course.
Curriculum A number of separate training courses (which may be of different types) grouped together.
