New right to work arrangements for EU, EEA and Swiss citizens

Under new government rules, EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can no longer provide passports or ID cards to prove their right to work in the UK, and will instead need to provide evidence of their immigration status in the UK.

Instead of using physical documents, individuals will now prove their right to work digitally, by using the View and Prove service on GOV.UK to generate a share code.

Further information can be found in this government guidance: Your immigration status - an introduction for EU, EEA and Swiss citizens.

Irish citizens can continue to use their passport or passport card to prove their right to work.
