The government has confirmed that remote RtW arrangements will be extended

During the Covid-19 pandemic, right to work checks were allowed to be conducted using scanned documents. The Home Office announced that these temporary arrangements would end on 21 June in line with the roadmap out of lockdown. However, due to the delay in the easing of lockdown restrictions this date has now been pushed back again. View the most recent announcemnet from the Home Office.

The new date for the resumption of in person Right to Work checks is 1 September 2021. This means that the temporary remote arrangements will remain in place until 31 August.

Arrangements had been made to facilitate in person right to work checks on campus from 21 June, however these arrangements will now be put on hold and all checks will take place remotely.

The government has confirmed that there will be no requirement to carry out retrospective checks on those who had a COVID-19 adjusted check between 30 March 2020 and 31 August 2021 (inclusive).
