The University has introduced a range of new benefits, focussing on health and financial wellbeing
Rewards Extra offers a range of savings and discount options to University of York staff. Current options include: dental and a range of health insurances, nursery extra, bus and rail season ticket loans and a cycle to work scheme.
The Reward team have been working with a number of external providers to improve the offering around health and financial wellbeing benefits. Here are the new things on offer:
- Workplace ISA's provided by Cushon
Providing an easy way to save and invest directly from your pay with Investment ISA's, Lifetime ISA's, Junior ISA's or a General Investment Account. - Salary linked loans and savings provided by Salaryfinance
Build financial resilience with loans at affordable rates and salary-deducted savings accounts, helping you to build savings habits without thinking about it. - Rental deposit loan scheme provided by the University
An interest free loan to help pay for a tenancy deposit when moving into a privately rented home. Repayable from salary over 12 months. - Critical illness cover provided by Canada Life
In the event you are diagnosed with an illness (covered by the policy), critical illness insurance can help to alleviate financial worries with a tax free pay out. Cover is also available for partners and children.
As well as these new offerings, the team are also changing the way the Cycle to Work Scheme is operating. This was in response to staff feedback and will mean it is now quicker and easier to receive Cyclescheme vouchers.
Many benefits are available for you to select all year round, however some can only be selected during the annual renewal window which will run from 7 September to 24 September. Please note, that in order to access most benefits we need permission to share your data with our external benefit provider Edenred. Full information on all our employee benefits and details on what you need to do to access them can be found on the HR website.
