I lead all key student and academic facing services, including the Academic Support Office, Careers and Placements Office, Students Services, Student Life and Wellbeing Services and the Library and Archives
Before coming to the University of York as Academic Registrar in January 2019, I was Director of Student Services and Senior Master at the University of Kent. Prior to that I held the role of Academic Registrar at the Universities of Essex and Lincoln and have worked as a senior manager in higher education for over 18 years. My experience extends to all aspects of the student journey from admission to graduation and beyond, including higher education administration, enhancing the quality of teaching and learning, student life and employability.
I am a graduate in Biochemistry from the University of Kent, where l also gained a PhD in the field of Biotechnology, and possess two masters’ degrees from the Universities of Cambridge and Loughborough. I am a Fellow of the Association of University Administrators and held the position of Chair of the OIA Higher Education Advisory Panel from 2013 to 2016. My working life started as a Senior Research Associate at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, University of London, before making the deliberate transition into higher education administration.
