The most senior formal committees of the University (namely the Council, the Senate and the University Executive Board) may establish their own committees for delegation of business as they deem fit, and have the authority to review, merge or disband such committees. Additionally, these bodies (and their committees) may establish panels, boards and steering/ task and finish groups on an ad hoc basis to discharge specific roles and functions.
As the ultimate decision-making body, the Council’s current committees are as follows:
Joint Committees shall be established in exceptional circumstances, including the joint committee of the Council and the Senate to recommend to the Council appointment of the Vice-Chancellor and President.
