e:Vision - Frequently Asked Questions

Please use the FAQs in the first instance for information about what access is required for your role, troubleshooting and who to contact.

What is e:Vision?

e:Vision is the web interface to SITS, for both staff and students. Departments and central University staff use it for various student data processing activities including mark entry, supervisor updates, assessment feedback and reporting.

What e:Vision access do I need?

The access required is largely role dependent. 

Department admin staff will generally need:

  • PG Administrator or Graduate Chair with decision making access - department wide access with ability to tag applications
  • UG Departmental Level Access - department wide access with ability to tag applications
  • Applicant Enquiry Screen
  • Student Enquiry Screen
  • View marks for all students in department
  • MAVs and Diets
  • Assessment and mark entry
  • Update supervisor information

There is some access which isn’t displayed as an option and therefore needs including in the notes field: 

  • Add/Edit Assessment Feedback
  • Withdrawal Trained Leaver Contact
  • Chair of Board of Studies/Graduate Chair for paperless services
  • Username of a colleague to replicate access

How do I request access to e:Vision?

Submit a request via IT Services' Authorised Systems Registration page. The options in the drop-down menu include 'e:Vision - Student Record System' and 'SITS Student Records'.

Your request will be forwarded to the person/s within your department responsible for authorising access. Once departmental authorisation is given, the Student Systems team will enable your access and you will receive a confirmation email when this has been done.

I am unable to log into e:Vision - why?

If you experience issues accessing e:Vision, please try the following:

  • Use this link: https://evision.york.ac.uk/
  • clear/ refresh your cache (Ctrl + F5 on Chrome)
  • delete your web browser's cookies
  • try a different web browser (Chrome or Firefox)
  • Ensure you are signed up to Duo-two Factor Authentication - please register for this service here.

How do I report a problem or raise a query about e:Vision?

Submit a query by emailing sits-support@york.ac.uk. We aim to respond within 3 working days. If your request is urgent, please include ‘Urgent’ in the subject field.
