International student support
We'll help you to settle in and adapt to life studying and living in the UK. We offer dedicated support for international students and our support network is here to help you make the most of your experience at York.
One of the most helpful features of the University is its International Student Support team. It was extremely helpful to have them support me right from the beginning with a welcome team coming to Manchester Airport the day I arrived. The University of York pays great attention to the anxieties of coming to a new place and you feel more comfortable with the support you receive.

My main concerns before I came included language barriers, cultural barriers and an unfamiliar learning environment. I found the Writing Centre helped me a lot during this journey. I attended several skills workshops on using different search engines, note-taking and how to do references. I also attended one-to-one writing support appointments. They really helped me improve my academic and English skills.
