Facility Developments

The University of York is committed to continuous improvement in the delivery of Sport and Physical Activity opportunities at the University.

2007

£250K improvements to the Fitness Suite including the addition of a mezzanine floor to create a two floor, 70 station Fitness Suite.

2008

£1 million spent on reception and changing room refurbishment plus relaying of the Astroturf pitch.

2009

100k Tennis court surface refurbishment and £20k spent on improving the Fitness Suite including the installation of Air Conditioning.

The Future...

The University is expanding to a new site at Heslington East. The site lies on land close to the current campus at Heslington on the outskirts of York.

The Heslington East development will include new sports facilities . Proposals include a 25 metre swimming pool, a fitness suite and a dance/martial arts studio, as well as outdoor sports facilities.
