Contact Numbers

Parents must leave an address and telephone number at the Nursery where they can be contacted during the day. We also ask parents to leave emergency contact numbers, to be used only when the parents are unable to be contacted. In the case of seperated parents, the Nursery will give equal access to the child(ren) to anyone with parental responsibility unless there is a court order prohibiting access. Please could anyone in this situation let the Nursery know of any special arrangments. If you wish to discuss any issue that you think may affect your child, please contact the Nursery Manager. Any information will be strictly confidential.

Staff Meetings

These are usually held once a month after the nursery is closed.

Clothing

It is very useful if you can provide spare clothes for the children in case of any "accidents".

Sickness

The Nursery Manager must be informed of any child taking medication who is attending the Nursery. Children cannot be brought to the Nursery with a high temperature, sickness and/or diarrhoea. Children taking medication, prescribed or otherwise, are admitted at the discretion of the Manager. Medication may be administered by the Nursery staff, again at the discretion of the Manager. Medication will not be given to any child unless the parent has given their permission in writing, stating times and dosage to be administered. If the Nursery staff consider a child is not well enough to attend the Nursery, the parents may be asked to take the child home. The Nursery Staff will do their best to inform parents of any childhood illnesses going around. All members of staff hold relevant First Aid Certificates for childcarers. We ask for written permission of parents (on registration form) to seek appropriate medical aid as and when necessary.

If a child is suffering from sickness and / or diarrhoea they cannot return to the Nursery until 48 hours has elapsed from the last occurrence of sickness / diarrhoea.

Safety & Security

It is an Ofsted requirement that parents/legal guardians sign their child in and out of the Nursery on the daily register. Please ensure that the door into the Nursery and gate on the access path are shut securely when entering and leaving the Nursery. Fire alarms are tested weekly and the staff carry out fire drills on a regular basis.
