Weekday Opportunities for Prayer

As well as the services and other opportunities for prayer that you will find below there are also a number of informal gatherings of students from many traditions and faith communities at different times in the week.

Ecumenical mid-week Prayer

There are two opportunities in the week for Ecumenical Prayer:

Each Tuesday during term time at 9.30am in The Quiet Place. A chance to come together with the Chaplains for a short morning prayer; to make some room for God in the middle of a busy week, and to pray for life and work in the world and on campus. After prayer we wander to Derwent College for coffee or tea hosted by the chaplains.

Every Wednesday at 12.30pm there is a slightly more formal Ecumenical mid-week prayer in More House Chapel. Prayer is followed by a free bread a soup lunch.

Weekday Mass and Office (Catholic)

Morning and Evening Prayer are celebrated Mon – Fri in More House, and all are welcome to come to pray at 8.30am and 6.00pm. 

Mass is celebrated Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 5.30pm in More House Chapel (during term time).

Holy Communion (Methodist/Anglican)

Each Thursday morning at 9.15am Holy Communion is celebrated in Heslington Church, all are welcome.
