Christian Societies

The Christian societies meet together with each other and the chaplains regularly to share thoughts and ideas on what we do, to share our experiences and pray together. It is a practical way of giving joint witness to our Christian faith. As a team the chaplains organise a number of joint events on campus. Check their websites and emails for further details.

CaSSoc - The Catholic Students' Society

Cassoc aims to promote a sense of community within the university. We look at issues which affect us as students and as Christians and hopefully explore and expand our knowledge. At the same time it's important to have some fun! Enjoy meeting new people and relaxing in a friendly envronment. Cassoc generally meets in More House at 8pm on Thursday evenings.

Anglican Society

The Christian Union

The CU aims to strengthen and deepen the faith of its members through teaching, prayer and bible study and as encouraging interest and active involvement in missionary work at home and abroad and for its members to be committed to a local church. The CU meets weekly at college level with a main meeting on Saturday nights.

Revelation

Revelation is a Christian-based rock-gospel choir which incorporates other performing arts (dance, drama and band).

Having started life at University College, London in 1993, Revelation has now expanded, forming many more choirs spread around Universities within the British Isles. Now there are Revelations in Warwick, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Leeds, Cambridge, Oxford, Keele, Hull, Bristol, Bangor and of course York, as well as in the Czech Republic and Italy!

Revelation is not all about making music, it's about people with different beliefs and opinions coming together to meet and build friendships. There are no prerequisites, all are welcome to join Revelation, from the tone deaf to the sickeningly talented.

Speak

Speak is a national student Christian social action movement which exists "to transform situations of injustice through linking people together to use their voice and pray for change. Through bringing change to situations of injustice, we want to share our faith in an all loving, all powerful Creator God."

York has its own local Speak group, which is represented on the CLM.
