Orthodox Christians:

Fr. David Carnelly (Greek Orthodox) is the local contact for Orthodox Christians at the University.

Fr. David leads the community of St. Constantine and St. Helen which gathers to celebrate the Divine Liturgy on the first Saturday and third Sunday of each month at 11.00am in the Church of St. Mary Bishophill Junior (off Micklegate - number 4 bus from the university takes you to within a short walk from the Church). Services are mainly in English with some Greek and Slavonic. Beginning in the autumn term 2010 Fr. David will be celebrating the Liturgy closer to the University Campus. The URC was formed in 1972 when the Presbyterian Church of England and the Congregational Union united, but now also includes the Churches of Christ and Congregational Union of Scotland. As part of the Reformed tradition, our Fellowship here in York includes students from Church of Scotland background.

York Chinese Church:

Meets for worship at 11.00am on Sunday at St. Helen's Church in central York

York Chinese Church works as part of St. Michael-le-Belfrey Anglican Church. Worship is in Mandarin. The Chaplains can put you in contact with members of the Church who speak Cantonese.
