Opportunities to share practice
At York, there are numerous opportunities for staff to share learning and teaching practice with colleagues, including the Annual Learning and Teaching Conference, termly workshops, special interest groups, Forum magazine, case studies of recent projects, and through peer support for teaching.
Professional development courses
A range of courses is available for colleagues at various stages in their careers, including the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP), the Preparing Future Academics programme for postgraduates who teach, and Yorkshare VLE-related training.
Reward and recognition
Information on the annual Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Awards and the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme; links to information on promotion and learning and teaching.
Current issue of Forum magazine
This issue of Forum looks at employability and learning and teaching, debating the role which academics should play in providing careers support to students, and looking at case studies of how employability is addressed through the curriculum within particular departments at York. Plus details of this year's Learning and Teaching Conference (Wednesday 16 May 2012); the Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Awards scheme 2012; and all learning and teaching events for staff taking place this term.
